I can understand wanting to be out of this house. Merlin only knows that I could understand that. Which is not to say that I do not love it, but there are six children underfoot, and they are young men both of them. Neither are married, both could be dating if they wished to be, and yet they frequently bring girlfriends here, to babysit? No, I would honestly be more forgiving of the response being simply that they are tired of raising children when they are not father's themselves.

I find this nonsense about putting a target on us ridiculous however. It would be foolish to say that we will stop being a target when they move out. And yet, the more of us who are here the more likely we would all be to escape should it be needed. With just Molly and I -- well, Bill is old enough and Charlie perhaps is as well, and maybe I should sit down with Molly and the two oldest boys and we should go through some evacuation procedures. They will have to involve the Floo as neither Bill nor Charlie can apparate, but that would be at least something.

And it is a separate location that will need to be warded. It feels to me more like dividing our resources and thus, very likely weakening them. But perhaps I am overreacting.

[Warded to Molly]
We ought to perhaps have done this a very long time ago, but it strikes me that we should sit down with Bill and Charlie and talk to them about what they should do if we are attacked. I think we could do it in a way so that we do not overly frighten them, but they have four younger brothers. If we should need to leave quickly particularly if your bro they ought to know what to do and how to help.

And it hardly needs to be said, but I hate that we are even having this conversation.

I would say that someone has been giving Fred & George ornery lessons, but I suspect it is simply natural talent.

Also, Charlie seems to have gotten it in his head that he is a dragon. The last twenty minutes have been taken up with him running over to me and 'setting my jumper on fire'. It's all vaguely endearing, although it isn't helping me get this report from work done. I suppose I should know better than to attempt to bring anything home.

[Warded Private]
Amazing that in the middle of a war you can have an evening that feels so bloody ordinary. But then that's just it isn't it? The war's an external thing -- a pressure on our family that we can't do anything about. Our family, well, they are the important thing. And Merlin only knows I spend a number of hours every day worrying about the boys and Molly and her brothers. I check the wards every bloody night, don't I then? But really, this is why I check them -- and moments like these I can almost forget that they're there.

No heroics boys.

I know how we all felt about Dorcas, but your sister needs you around right now.

Tomorrow morning we're going to go around the entire perimeter and re-test every ward. And tonight I think we should keep watch just in case. It isn't likely they'd do anything so quickly I don't believe, but it's also not worth risking.

[Warded Private]
It's not - well it's hardly as if we're any safer than we would have been if our names were outed, but it's a small blessing. I think I'm going to relook over the wards - again. I feel like that's all I've done recently and I don't feel as if I'm capable enough to do so well.

It's hard to go to work and pretend to care about it when my children are living in a world cowed by such fear and cowardice.

But I love you.

I would like to introduce the world to my HANDSOME and PERFECT son.

RONALD BILIUS WEASLEY would like to say hello to the world. Clearly he is going to be a Quidditch captain someday.

Mother is fine and healthy and exhausted; as is the Father, and the big brothers are all pleased as can be. This one'll be a Gryffindor for certain. Sorta brings a new meaning to 'In like a Lion' doesn't it?

I've never much been interested in politics or manipulating people. Attacking a Quidditch match full of witches and wizards of all bloodlines can only be to inspire fear - and fear can be used to manipulate.

I hope it doesn't need to be said, but you shouldn't allow yourself to be manipulated.

Note to the wizarding world at large: tea kettles that bite are bad things and I've got the scratch to pro - doesn't much matter if you're a wizard or a muggle on that one. So do everyone a favour and don't make it happen.

[Warded to Molly]

Happy New Year, my dear. I think I didn't quite keep up till Midnight did I? I seem to have dosed off on the sofa actually. Considering how wound up Fred and George were last night, that's likely an accomplishment worth noting for the year isn't it?

Last week I was called out to a home where there were 'dancing objects'. Honestly, the amount of information we get to go on sometimes, just really isn't that helpful. I get out there and the ceramic items you see in the photo below were literally bouncing about this Muggles house, and the old woman was so terrified she wouldn't leave her room.

I remain baffled about what the point is, but half the time Wizard's charm Muggle objects I'm not certain I see the point. One thing if you're charming it for personal use, or whatever, but just charming it and leaving it about? I don't recommend it.

Cut for Picture only )

At any rate, I've honestly no idea what they'd be used for. They almost look like they'd make some sort of bizarre necklace, but they're too large for beads, and the necklace would be extremely heavy, and not very pretty, really. I bought a couple home, going to have to do some resear

Ah, and Happy New Year everyone. So far 1980 has been right enough for my family.

Rather feels like the most frustrating assignments always come on the days when you're least equipped to deal with them - almost like an unwritten law of the universe.

I don't like this werewolf bill much. I think Abe's right about the fact that it's going to be trouble. I'm just hoping it won't be too much - or, although it sounds a bit horrible, more than what it's been now.

On the bright side I think Charlie liked his birthday cake rather a lot.

[Warded Private]
I was going to talk about that object we found today and speculate on usage, but I think I'm not quite in that frame of mind.

It's a little sad when I'm not in a frame of mind to talk Muggle stuff.

I think.

And then there's the Order stuff - Not certain how to broach that with Molly, but I don't think I can just sit here and pretend there's not more needed. I could be helpful, I think - even if I'm not trained to the level of Edgar or Sturgis.

Looks like I'm going to be a bit late tonight. Someone just called in a vomiting toilet in Knightsbridge. Don't ask me why someone would want to make a toilet vomit - but in all likelihood, I'm not going to be very hungry either.

[Warded Private]
Ugh.

Can't complain though - generally speaking, toilets don't use unforgivables.
